Beach Clean with Clean Coast Outer Hebrides

Join Clean Coast Outer Hebrides and make a difference by cleaning the shore along East Loch Tarbert!

Clean Coast Outer Hebrides invite you to join them for a beach clean along the shore at East Loch Tarbert, close to Tarbert village centre.

The Clean Coast team will provide all the kit needed, including gloves, bags, and litter grabbers.

If you’re not able to get down to the rocky shore, come along and join the land crew – you can help sign people in, hand out kit, then sort, weigh, and log what’s collected. The beach clean will be logged with Surfers Against Sewage’s Million Mile Clean, meaning beach cleaners become citizen scientists, with vital data recorded on the brands and items found.

As much as possible collected from the shore will be recycled, with the remainder taken for disposal.

Parking:

There’s plenty of parking locally – we recommend you park in the main car park, opposite Hotel Hebrides.

Getting here:

We encourage folk to car-share where possible. Some car-share lifts will be available from Perceval Square, Stornoway – please email hello@cleancoastoh.com to note your interest. Alternatively, Tarbert is on the main Stornoway – Leverburgh bus route (W10).

Toilets:

There are toilets at the main car park in Tarbert.

What do I need?

We recommend you bring a water bottle and wear weather-appropriate clothing – Clean Coast outer Hebrides will supply everything else!
