Climate Week – Webinar: Sustainable Island Industries

📅 Monday 28 September 2026 | 7pm to 8.30pm | Online

Join us for this free webinar, showcasing businesses operating across the Western Isles who are leading the way in sustainability.

As we experience the impacts of climate change here in the Western Isles, it’s more pressing than ever for businesses in our islands to find ways to mitigate and adapt to these impacts.

This webinar, hosted by the Outer Hebrides Climate Hub, will hear directly from local organisations implementing practical measures to reduce their environmental impact — from setting ambitious targets and improving sustainability performance to investments towards reduced and zero-emissions travel, and adopting Environmental Management Systems as part of their journey towards net zero.

Why attend:

This session offers real‑world insight into how island businesses are turning sustainability commitments into action. Whether you’re exploring net zero strategies, supporting local enterprise, or looking for practical examples to apply in your own organisation, you’ll gain valuable knowledge, inspiration, and connections.

We’ll hear first from expert Climate Hub member Michael McGowan, about what makes a sustainable and responsible business, before we’re joined by speakers including Lewis Builders, NHS Western Isles, and CalMac. There will be a facilitated Q&A following the speakers, giving you the chance to ask any questions and to share any challenges or opportunities you have experienced.
