The Membership and Communications Officer is a key role within the Climate Hebrides team, responsible for the day-to-day delivery of communications and membership support for a growing network of over 300 members. The postholder will ensure clear, consistent and high-quality communications across digital, print and media channels, supporting engagement with members, partners and the wider public.
- £27-30,000 p.a. (depending on experience)
- Auto pension enrolment
- Home-based with travel and occasional in-person meetings/events
- Fixed Term to end of March 2027 (with likely extension)
Reporting directly to the Climate Hub Manager, the Membership and Communications Officer will work closely with the Outreach Officer to strengthen organisational reach, public engagement and community-led climate action across the Outer Hebrides Climate Hub. The role plays an important part in supporting events, funding programmes and Hub activity, as well as maintaining strong relationships with members and contributors.
The role is well suited to someone with previous experience in communications and/or managing a membership or stakeholder network, either online or in person. The successful candidate will bring strong organisational skills, a proactive and collaborative working style, and the ability to work independently in a remote setting. An understanding of climate change issues, particularly in an island or rural context, is essential.
The post is home-based, with regular online and in-person meetings. Occasional evening or weekend work will be required, along with travel within the Outer Hebrides and (potentially) occasional travel to the mainland.
